16 - 1920's Sports Figure

I decided to do 2 drawings so as not to be sexist.  I looked up popular sports in the 1920s and boxing and dodgeball came up.  I tried looking up images for dodgeball and most of what came up were women dressed in sweaters and skirts playing the sport.  That makes me think the roaring 20's were the greatest time period in history.

First digital attempt.  Kind of fun but obviously didn't take advantage of all the software's functionality, instead defaulting to my familiar line drawing technique.  Maybe for the next attempt.

14 - Homeless Person

Quickly sketched out drawing of a hobo.  I wanted him to look gaunt and skinny but I don't know if that came across.  I drew the head on a separate piece of paper and I don't think it integrates all that well with the rest of the figure but I was too lazy to change it.  Ah well.

The smoke/steam was inspired from a seminar I attended on animating special effects in 2D.
